Post workout supplementation

We are just about to start week 2, many of you have been working very hard and I’m proud of you all!

Let’s Talk Supplements!

I have had numerous questions from you Beasts! regarding how to use the supplements we recommend for the nutritional plan for your 6 week challenge.

During our Nutritional seminar (available on video HERE ) we talked about the best supplements to use and when.

One of the most important aspects of the supplementation is timing especially  during the post workout window…the time right after you finish your workout. We want to flood the body with critically needed macro nutrients and phyto nutrients that will dramatically speed up the recovery process.

This will help you rebuild lean muscle tissue and repair the damage to the body from the workout.

The more lean muscle tissue you maintain the more calories you burn and the less likely hood of you storing fat, and the better the chance your body has in burning its existing fat stores.

Of course the understanding is that you are eating a highly efficient diet of protein, good fats, and some carbs taken at specific times during your day (carb timing).

Here is a video I made that shows exactly how I use which supplements for my post workout recovery.



If you are on the IF (Intermittent Fasting) like me, post workout is the only time I’m currently allowed to take in my 60 grams of carbs.

In fact I find myself throwing in a few more workouts a week so I can have some carbs afterwards. For example if we are going out to dinner and I want some pasta, I would be sure to hit a good Hostyle level 30 minutes workout to make the body use those incoming carbs to replace depleted glycogen (carbs stored in the, muscle tissue)

After my workout I blend the following ;

  • 50 grams of whey Fusion protein
  • 60 grams of Waximaize
  • 5 – 10 grams of Leucine
  • 1 scoop of Phyto berry/ multi vitamin mix
  • Water

Now if I’m having a shake within my 8 hour “fed” window I blend the following;

  • 50 grams of whey Fusion protein
  • 5 – 10 grams of Leucine
  • 1 scoop of Vege greens / multi vitamin mix
  • 15 – 20 grams of almonds or fish oil (I don’t blend these)
  • creatine
  • Water

This shake during my “fed” state helps me get to my total required amount of protein and fats quick and easy. It’s easy for me to get this shake in when I’m busy at Hostyle coaching a client for Crushing a group class.

This is in my opinion the best supplements to use in the best manner for maximizing , fat loss, lean muscle tissue and athletic performance.
