Hostyle Conditioning – This workout almost killed me
I decided that this week would be dead lift week at Hostyle.
…Like Shark week but deadlier…
So throughout the week we used the deadlift in our various workouts..
Some workouts like Kettlebells we used it as one station in a series of other kettlebell moves done in a gauntlet style for an AMRAP 30 minute format.
During the conditioning workouts I loaded 5 – 6 bars at different weights to be done in gauntlete style.
I had people go thru the Â Deadlift series.
the weights started at
if they could not get the 3 -5 reps at any given weight they had to do corresponding alternate stations.
65lbs – 20 burpees
95lbs – 25 body weight squats
115lbs – 30 Box jumps
135lbs – 40 Ball slams
225lbs – 45 Ankle touches
We did it as AMRAP 25 minute workout doing as many rounds as possible with no official rest between rounds.
Then It was my Turn
Now I was so freakin motivated by the the groups effort I decided to do my own version.
5 reps of each of the following weights
then after each round I did the following.
Round 1 – 20 Burpees
Round 2 – 25 Bodyweight Squats
Round 3 – 20 Box Jumps
Round 4 – 40 Ball Slams
Round 5 – 45 Ankle Touches
Round 6 – 50 Kettlebell Swings 24kg
Time to complete 42:15
It was total Ass Kickery !!
My back is nice and tight today, It will be interesting to see the next few days of training feel like.
It goes to show you how you can incorporate one move as a theme for all sorts of different training.
Of course it helps to have a facility like Hostyle Conditioning that is set up to do this type of training.
